NEW YORK (AP) -- A doctor from Miami helped save a man who fell onto New York City subway tracks.
Ben Abo, an emergency doctor at Miami Beach's Mount Sinai Medical Center, was at the Ninth Street station in Greenwich Village Wednesday night when he observed a man having a seizure and fall onto the tracks.
Abo told the New York Post he leaned over the platform and yelled down him but the man didn't respond.
He asked someone to pull an alarm before he jumped down to help him.
He and another good Samaritan hoisted the victim over the edge to safety. He said seconds later a train came roaring into the station.
The victim regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital.
