Press Release: Tallahassee Fire Department
At around 7:00 a.m., employees at Rose Printing noticed a piece of machinery used to melt and apply glue to printed materials on fire and called the Tallahassee Fire Department.
When fire crews arrived, smoke was visible from the roof of the large warehouse building. Firefighters quickly evacuated the smoke from the building and extinguished a small fire inside the machinery and a small fire on the roof that traveled through a vent pipe used to exhaust heated gas.
Two employees were transported in good condition to TMH by Leon County EMS for minor smoke inhalation. Officials with Rose Printing say that seventy employees evacuated the building at the time of the incident and that the fire only interrupted their production for a couple of hours.
Officials did not have damage estimates at the time of the release. The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and City of Tallahassee Utilities.
