The Quick Buys convenience store on the corner of Highway 188 and U-S 19 in Ochlocknee isn't a hole in the wall, but now it has one. A clerk and her son went to open the store Tuesday morning and discovered the ATM from their store had been taken.

"They actually thought that they had a rooftop-style burglary because they couldn't see any damage to the front of the store. The son walked around to the rear and saw that the cinder blocks had been broken out," said Lt. Tim Watkins of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.

It appeared as if the thieves had broken a hole through the back wall and then went right through the cooler.

Only one person can be seen on surveillance video. A man can be seen coming through the hole wearing a mask. He then went to cut wires, check the safe and then turned off the cameras. At some point during that time the cameras were off, he took the ATM.

Ann Balducci is trying to clean up the mess now. She closed the store Sunday night and did recall something out of the ordinary.

"They asked if anything strange happened and I said not really, and that brought to mind a couple of people that walked in that were a little bit different, we viewed tapes today, and pointed out a few things, and that was after this," said Balducci.

The ATM was broken into and discarded about a 100 yards away from the store. The burglar made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

This makes one think back a few years as this happened at the store on Hwy 84 and Pine Park Rd. intersection in Grady Co.. Same M/O, and the store is in an isolated area.
