FDOT Release

Chipley, FL – Construction activities have started on State Road (S.R.) 20, between Capps and Lamont in Jefferson County. While workers are paving in the northbound and southbound lanes, one lane of traffic will be maintained. Drivers can expect lane closures Monday, Feb. 18, through Friday, Feb. 22, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily. Work is expected to be completed summer 2013.

Additionally, paving work will take place in the acceleration and deceleration lanes of the I-10 rest areas in Leon County near mile marker 193 and Jefferson County near mile marker 233, Monday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 19. To allow travelers access to the facilities, traffic will shift to the shoulders during paving. Lane shifts will remain in effect from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention and use caution when driving through the work zone.
