Thomasville, GA - A prank call leaves a local hotel dealing with a big mess.
At approximately two this morning a person called the Hampton Inn in Thomasville. That person asked to be transferred to a room where they acted as the front desk. According to Thomasville Police the person told the guests in the room that several parts of the hotel were flooding and if they wanted to stop it they needed to cut a cord in their fire sprinkler. The people in the room complied causing major water damage to the hotel.
TPD has this to say to those who may encounter a similar situation. "If you're staying at a hotel be it here in Thomasville or elsewhere make sure that you notify the management if you should receive a call from someone telling you to damage the room," said LT. Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department Spokesperson.
The hotel said 10 to 15 rooms have major water damage. Right now Thomasville Police said it's still looking into the identity of the prank caller.
