Quincy, FL - Community members rallied around the grill to rally support for an injured firefighter in Gadsden County.
For $5 you could get a pulled pork sandwich meal, and help Mitch Stiles at the same time.
The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office sold the plates in front of the courthouse in Quincy today as a fundraiser.
Stiles, a major with the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Department and officer with the Florida Forestry, suffered severe burns on August 2nd when a carburetor backfired on him.
Stiles' father, Doug Stiles, says, "It's just so wonderful seeing the community come together to help my son and my family out; raise funds for us. With the expenses of it, it's very difficult."
Stiles is in Shands hospital in Jacksonville. His father says he's battling pneumonia and infections.
There will be another fundraiser on Saturday at the Greensboro Park from 10 to 4.
