TALLAHASSEE, FL-- Rethink Energy Florida will be hosting its 1st Annual Songwriting Competition. This is a open amateur songwriters and co-songwriters competition. The focus of the competition is Rethink Energy Florida's mission statement.. Rethink Energy Florida is giving the opportunity to for writers to create an original song that will shed light on sustainable energy. There is no limit on the number of songs you can submit in this competition.The songs can be in any genre of music. This song will be used to promote Rethink Energy Florida.
“The Songwriter's Competition will promote Rethink Energy Florida and our mission of energy awareness.This is a great way to get your message heard through the art of music. All musicians should submit a song for the chance to win a great prize,” said Rhiannon Martinez an intern with Rethink Energy Florida. The competition will all ages to be able to create a song that focuses on sustainable energy. Songwriters must have songs themed around the mission statement for example solar energy, getting off fossil fuels, energy reduction, etc.” We developed this competition because we believe music is a great way to get people to start thinking about new ways to conserve and create energy. So, we want to encourage creativity that will help others shift their paradigm [on energy].” said, Kim Ross, president of Rethink Energy Florida.
The competition deadlines is March 22, 2013.
They must be submitted electronically and postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on March 22,2013. The competition will be narrowed down to 20 semi-finalists and then narrowed down to 5. The application is online located at www.rethinkenergyflorida.org/songwriterscompetition. There is a small fee for the application that is $15 that can be paid online along with submission of the application.
