Many north Florida and south Georgia residents saw strange "holes" in the clouds Thursday morning. What caused them?
The short explanation is that a plane's exhaust causes supercooled droplets in a cloud layer to freeze, which then expand and sink into a drier air mass, evaporate and then leave a hole.
