Sexual Offender Arrested for Burglary and Lewdness

A local man registered as a sex offender is in trouble with the law again for an act on a minor. The incident happened Monday in Quincy.

Julie, police say this is not Hiram Beamon's first run in with the law regarding an improper act on a minor.

This all went down yesterday. Quincy Police say 39-year-old Beamon knocked on the back door of the victim's grandmother's home.

Police say the victim answered the door and Beamon forced himself in after learning no adults were home.

The victim ran away unharmed to a nearby aunts house where they called police.

Police later arrested Beamon who was on the run.

Police say he was first arrested in 2002 for a lewd and lascivious act on a minor and then in 2005 for the same thing.

A convicted sex offender is back behind bars, police say for soliciting an 11-year-old for sex.

According to Quincy Police, 39-year-old Hiram Beamon knocked on the back door of the victim's grandmother's home.

Police say the victim answered the door and Beamon forced himself in after learning no adults were home.

The victim ran away unharmed to a nearby aunts house where they called police.

Police later arrested Beamon who was on the run.

The Quincy Police Department has arrested a convicted sexual offender after he entered the home of an 11 year old girl and solicited her.

Quincy Police were called to the home of the victims relatives on Monday afternoon. Family members, of the victim, had confronted the arrestee near the area of his crime. After speaking with the victim police learned that the arrestee, Hiram Beamon, knocked on the back door of the victim’s grandmother’s house. The victim answered the door thinking the arrestee was someone else. Upon learning that no adults were home the arrestee entered the home against the girl’s wishes. Once inside the home the arrestee solicited the 11 year old with money for sexual favors.

The victim was able to escape the arrestee by running out the house to a nearby aunt’s home. The victim’s aunt advised police that as the victim, who was screaming, ran to her house she could see the arrestee running to escape through a nearby graveyard fleeing the crime scene.

The victim was unharmed and the suspect was arrested.
The arrestee is a documented sex offender and has been convicted of the following:
lewd or lascivious battery on a victim 12-15 years old on 4/9/02;
lewd or lascivious battery on a victim 12-15 on 5/31/05.

On Monday Quincy Police arrested: Hiram A. Beamon, DOB: 11/25/73, of Quincy.
Charges: Burglary of a dwelling and Lewdness. He was taken to the Gadsden County Jail.

The identity of the victim is not released due to public records law exemption.
