The Tallahassee Police Department has identified the victims in the carjacking case which occurred on August 15th.
The female victim is identified as Brittany Pearis. Ms. Pearis was the victim of the carjacking and was unharmed in the incident. After the carjacking occurred, Ms. Pearis stated she called her boyfriend, Alfred McDowell, who in turn located the victims silver Infiniti at Stadium Drive and Pensacola Street. After confronting the suspect and pulling him from the driver’s seat of the Infiniti, Mr. McDowell jumped into the Infiniti and attempted to leave. Mr. McDowell states the unknown masked suspect then jumped into a dark colored sedan (believed to be working with the suspect) and caught up to Mr. McDowell, shooting at him and striking the driver’s side of the Infiniti. Mr. McDowell suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds and received treatment for his injuries at a local hospital.
The suspect in the case is described as a black male wearing a ski mask.

A carjacker accused of firing shots near the FSU campus was wearing a ski mask, police revealed today.
Tallahassee Police released some new information today on a carjacking that resulted in a shooting and crash on Stadium Drive Wednesday.
The victim's boyfriend, Alfred McDowell, was shot after he pulled the carjacker out of the car at a stop light. He survived.
Tallahassee Police have released only a vague description of the suspect ... a black man who fled in a dark sedan.

A car-jacking and shooting ends with a crash right on the edge of the FSU campus. The incident took place around 4am near the corner of Stadium Drive and Spirit Way.
People in the area heard gunshots and then saw a Silver Infiniti crash on the hill in front of the Southern Scholarship Foundation.
It turns out the crash was the end of a wild chain of events.
A woman told police she was car jacked on Ocala road. She says the culprits took off in her silver Infiniti.
She says her boyfriend spotted the car on Stadium Drive and confronted the driver at a stop light.
The woman told police her boyfriend forced the suspects out of the car but when he tried to drive away the culprits pulled along side the car and shot him.
The boyfriend was hit in the abdomen and the arm.
Police tell us those injuries are not life threatening.
We spoke with TPD this morning, but they are not releasing any names and are not commenting on suspects.
The only thing we know is the car jacking suspect fled in a dark colored sedan.
FSU ALERT - 08-15-12 12:36pm - Information regarding shooting near FSU campus
On August 15, 2012 at about 4am, the FSUPD and Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting incident immediately west of campus at the intersection of Stadium Drive and Pensacola Street. The victim of the shooting drove his vehicle onto Stadium Drive on campus and crashed. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The shooting, according to Tallahassee Police, who are the lead agency on this case, was likely connected to a carjacking incident that happened in the area of Ocala Road and Tharpe Street. There is no known nexus or connection to Florida State other than the resulting crash, however, this email is to inform FSU and to assist the TPD by asking anyone in the campus area who saw any portion of the incident to contact the Tallahassee Police Department with information. The injuries to the victim are reported to be non-life threatening.
Tallahassee police have advised local news outlets that they are searching for a dark colored sedan involved in the incident. The Tallahassee Police Department is heading up the investigation and will be releasing incident details in their discretion. An alleged car jacking leaves one victim with multiple gun shot wounds.
At 4am on Wednesday morning, TPD says a woman claimed to be the victim of a car jacking on Stadium Road. The victim says her boyfriend and a friend found the suspect in the stolen Infiniti on Stadium Drive. Police say the boyfriend pulled the carjacker out of the car and started to drive away. The alleged carjacker hopped into another vehicle and started to fire a weapon at the Infiniti.
The victim suffered non-live threatening injuries to his abdomen and arm.
Police are still searching for the suspects driving a dark colored sedan.
