'Small Business Saturday'... It's a national campaign that encourages people to shop at locally owned stores.
Gaines Street in Tallahassee is home to many locally owned businesses.
While the area has struggled to get back to where it once was economically, shop owners say anything that promotes local businesses and draws people to the area is a good thing.
"We need extra business down here because the construction has been pretty rough for the past couple of years. So any extra traffic we can get is always nice. We're getting better, but we are still not back to normal yet," says Heather Wade, owner of Avant-Garb
According to a Tallahassee, website: 'Local Business Saturday', between 60 and 80 percent of all jobs created are created by local businesses.
