Some local kids will not only go to school with new supplies, but also looking clean and cut.

State Representative Alan Williams teamed up with the Corner Barbershop to host a back to school event.

Kids got free school supplies, free clothing and free haircuts.

The event was Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and held at the Corner Barbershop in the Governor's Square Mall in Tallahassee.

"We know when students look good and they feel good, hopefully that gives them the ability to learn better and gives them a sense of pride," said Rep. Williams of Tallahassee.

Dozens of families made their way to get the free stuff. The event was also held to support the "Ladies Learning to Lead Organization."
