The inaugural Capital City Veterans Consortium brings together student-veterans from Florida State University, Florida A & M University and Tallahassee Community College for dialogue, strategy development, an exhibitor showcase and a discussion session with elected officials on matters of importance to the men and women who served in the military.

Representatives from national, state and local veteran-support organizations will participate in the consortium, which is divided into four parts.
The consortium begins with invitation-only dialogue sessions on topics ranging from increasing student-veterans' retention and graduation rates to methods for recruiting exiting military personnel.
Strategies identified during the dialogue sessions will be presented during the consortium luncheon, which will also feature comments by Florida A&M Interim President Larry Robinson and Florida State President Eric J. Barron. In addition, a panel discussion of student-veterans from the three participating schools will also be conducted during the luncheon.
From 1:00 to 3:00pm, an exhibitor showcase will feature more than 30 veteran-support organizations and programs available in the local community and at local colleges and universities. This event is free and open to the public.
From 3:00 to 5:00pm, there will be a meeting between student-veterans and local elected officials, including state Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, Tallahassee Mayor John Marks and members of the Tallahassee City Commission on programs and policies important to student veterans.
