Tallahassee, FL - The workforce spiked today--with a much younger group of helpers.
Today was National "Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day."
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is emphasizing the importance of introducing children to the many jobs and careers.
Kids participated in interactive exhibits with activities like planting seeds and petting a bear's head from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
10-Year-Old Elizabeth Osterhaus says, "I think it's really fun. They have a lot of cool things you can learn about here, about Florida. Wakulla Springs, the sheriff's department. Basically, they have everything."
The event was held on the 22nd floor of the Capitol instead of the capitol courtyard because of rain.
