Tallahassee, FL - What would make most of us leave home?
For Denitrice Sutton it's easy. Saturday morning's shooting is the only reason she needs.

"I am not going back to my house. It's not because I’m scared it's just I’m not going to go back because I got kids at the end of the day and I don't want it to happen to them," said Sutton.

Being cared for in a hospital bed, Sutton isn't sure where she'll go next. Currently she's being treated for a gun shot that pierced her nose and exited out of her left ear. But Sutton doesn't think he'll ever be caught.

"It don't really even bother me because I don't know I don't think anything is going to be done I don't think they're going to find him, honestly," said Sutton

As of late Monday night Tallahassee Police hadn't named or arrested a suspect. When asked about persons of interest TPD couldn't comment because the case is being investigated as domestic violence. Florida statutes prohibit law enforcement from talking about domestic cases.

"Laying on the ground on my face thinking about my kids and thinking about if they come out from upstairs they going to see me laying down here in a puddle of blood, and that's not how I wanted them to see me," said Sutton.

"I don't want to be here any more I can tell you that, "Becky said.

Becky has lived on Patrick Ave. for 18 months. On Saturday, she woke up to flashing lights, K-9 units and a yard full of police cars.
the Tallahassee Police Department responded to reports of shots being fired. Becky said this isn't the first time but for her it's the last straw.

"I have three grandchildren with me so I was pretty concerned about that, and this is like the second or third time the police have been here this week," said Becky.

According to a family member the female victim was shot in the head. Witnesses say she walked over to a neighbors house where she sat in a chair waiting for someone to call 9-1-1. Investigators were on the scene for hours searching for evidence.

Tenitris Mcinnis, spokesperson for TPD, said that incidents that happen in the morning tend to make gathering evidence harder.

"Were trying to locate witnesses, again, if anybody has seen anything in the area. Also were looking for possible casing of bullets, blood splatter and any of that kind of information that our forensics, along with our violent crimes unit can use," Mcinnis said.

This is the second incident within 48 hours of TPD's press conference, saying that they're trying to get gun violence under control in the community.

On Thursday, TPD released a 5-point plan of attack to combat violence in the city. Now they're actively investigating two incidents less than three hours apart.
