Tallahassee, FL - The 2014 Miss Florida Junior Pre-Teen is from Tallahassee.
10-Year-old Megan Henry won the crown last Saturday, July 5th, in Jacksonville. She'll now go on to the "National" Miss Florida Junior Pre-teen pageant, which will be held in Anaheim, California at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week.
Megan is an honor student at Conley Elementary and is going to be in fifth grade.
She says she's excited to be crowned and ready to serve the community. She says, "I think it's important because I think that everybody should be living well. They should be doing well and happy. I think that giving back is the best thing to do."
The overall contest was based on community service, poise in formal wear, personal introduction, and interview.
Megan has the chance to win her share of more than $500,000 in cash and prizes.
Her first service event will be helping out at the Walker-Ford Back-to-School event in August.
