Thomasville, GA- Officers from the Thomasville Police Department and Thomas County Sheriff's Office are coming together to support one of their own.
Officer Matthew Griffin with the Thomasville Police Department was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2002.
Officer Griffin has had to undergo several surgeries and has been in and out of the hospital for several years.
Lt. Wade Glover with the Thomasville Police Department says because of Officer Griffin's sickness, he has had to miss quite a lot of work which has forced him to use all of his sick and vacation time.
Lt. Glover says Griffin has always been so supportive of the Thomasville community and because of that, they hope they can give back to him during his time of need.
On April 17th at the Connection Church along Smith Avenue, the police department and sheriff's office will be hosting a chicken dinner fundraiser for Griffin.
The law enforcement agents will prepare the meals which are take-out only.
Lt. Glover says the menu will feature a half of chicken, corn on the cob, beans and bread, compliments of Flowers.
Tickets are $8 and meals will be available for pick up from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
To purchase your ticket call the Thomasville Police Department at: 229-227-3249
