Two Cars Crash, One Car Catches on Fire

Tallahassee, Florida - November 18, 2012

After two cars collide one ends up on fire Saturday at 2:45am in Suwannee County.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Leanna Stebbins, 21, was driving east on US-27 behind Brett Suggs.

FHP says Suggs' car was traveling east on US-27 slowing down to make a right turn onto 65th Road.

The release says Stebbins continued approaching Suggs' car and struck the rear.

According to FHP, Suggs then came to rest on its left side facing north.

Stebbins' car rotated clockwise, traveled off the road onto the southernmost grassy shoulder and entered an adjacent tree line where it struck a small group of trees with its front.

Stebbins' 2011 Chevy Cruz then caught on fire after coming to final rest facing southeast in the tree line.

FHP says Leanna Stebbins had minor injuries. The release says alcohol was not in her system and she was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the other car, Brett Suggs, was taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries. Alcohol was not in his system.

According to FHP, Suggs had two passengers in his car. The first passenger, Brian Barnes, 22, was taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries.

The other passenger, Elizabeth Marie-Avery, 24, had minor injuries.

All three were wearing seatbelts.
