Valdosta, GA - The Valdosta Student Exchange Program has been working on various projects to do in the region during their 2 week trip, such as building a library in one community, but the group of 14 needs to raise $30,000 by April 1, to ensure they will be able to go. Marilyn Johnson, the trip's organizer says this is an incredible opportunity for her students.
"It's important for students to make a connection between what they're learning in the classroom and what the world is truly like. So, these students probably won't have an opportunity to travel again, to go to places like this, so this is almost a once in a lifetime experience for most of these students."
The Exchange Program will hold a car wash and fish fry this Saturday at Valdosta Middle School in order to raise money for their trip.
