WIC remains up and running throughout the Big Bend.
It stands for Women, Infants and Children. We spoke with a representative of WIC at the Gadsden County locations. They say WIC has enough funding at least for the time being.
WIC helps newborns and their mothers with nutrition plans, breastfeeding and childhood obesity.
"We're fully functioning and we continue to monitor the situation in Washington," said Aaron Kissler.
WIC helps more than 2,000 families in Gadsden County alone.
