Wakulla County, FL - Should Wakulla County approve a tax to help schools?

That was the issue on the agenda Thursday during a community forum with school superintendent Bobby Pearce. The meeting was to discuss a special election and a bill that will be voted on next week.

The forum was attended by teachers and citizens of Wakulla. Pearce is in favor of the bill that will add a tax to taxable property value to enhance school operations.

Bobby Pearce: "In Gulf County, back in March, they approved for the second time in eight years, they approved a one mil increase, which will generate over one million dollars in their community. And I will be shocked if the voters in Wakulla County don't have the courage to do similarly for the students of Wakulla County."

The Wakulla Democratic Executive Committee hosted Thursday's forum.
