Crawfordvile, FL---The close knit Wakulla County community is in tears after a fatal accident Saturday night.
The accident happened on State Road 267 on the same street of Riversink Elementary School. The driver Brittany Munger was headed Northbound when her right rear tire started to come apart causing her to lose control of her Ford explorer.
Munger suffered minor injuries. Two passengers Robert Mathers and Robert Soule suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Soule died three hours later...
"I didn't think it was Robert," said Mary Clemons, Soule's Grandmother. "I didn't even believe it was Robert."
Soule attended the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, but grew up in Wakulla County. His grandmother says, that is were he called home. He lived with his grandmother who raised him.
"The kids live with no daddy, no one took care of them except me, that's hard," said Clemons.
Neighbors that live near the crash say, the street is very prone to accidents. A few weeks ago they saw a driver smash into a tree.
"It's never easy, It's nice to have a good community when stuff happens," said Dale Lamoreaux, a Wakulla roadside vendor near the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatal car accident.
FHP says no one inside the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of accident.
A single car accident has killed one person in Wakulla County.
Around 8:30 Saturday night a 1997 Ford Explorer, driven by 23-year-old Brittany Munger, was driving west of Bloxham Cutoff Road near Lonnie Raker Lane. One of the rear tires had a tread separation causing Munger to loose control of the vehicle.
The vehicle ran off the roadway onto the south shoulder where it overturned. Munger was ejected from the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
Front passenger Robert Mathers, 19, suffered serious injuries. Rear passenger, 26-year-old Robert Soule, was pronounced dead at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. Charges are pending.
