Tallahassee, FL - The West Point Society of Tallahassee held it's annual Founder's Day at the FSU University Club this evening. It's an event they hold each year to celebration the founding of West Point in 1802.
Among the guest invited were Congressman Steve Southerland and West Point Chief of Staff Colonel Wayne Green. Many graduates of West Point were able to meet the cadets currently enrolled as well as two local students who will be attending in the fall. The students are Zach Yopp from North Florida Christian School and Jadon Long from Lowdnes High School.
"I'm very excited and I feel very blessed to be able to be offered this opportunity to serve our country and by being a commissioned officer United States Army after west point," said Zach Yopp.
Before the Founder's Day celebration started the incoming students and their families were able to meet with COL. Wayne Green. They future students of the academy had to opportunity to ask the Colonel any questions about the school.
