MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) -- Central Florida health officials say a woman in her mid-30s who recently gave birth has died from the flu.
The woman is the second flu fatality in Brevard County this season. Officials said Monday that the woman gave birth in early December.
Another woman in her 30s died Jan. 5 at the same Melbourne hospital.
The director of the county's health department tells Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1joDZUk ) that two other people in Brevard hospitals remain on life support due to influenza.
Earlier this month, health officials in north Florida reported that 12 people had died from the flu at a Gainesville hospital since October, including five people under age 40.
Officials say it's not too late in the virus' season to get the flu vaccine.
