NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- June 17, 2012
Authorities say a southwest Florida woman escaped after being forced into a car and assaulted.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office reports the incident happened in North Fort Myers Friday morning.
Deputies received a report of a female being forced into a red Toyota Corolla. About 30 minutes later, they received another report of a woman jumping out of a red vehicle. Investigators determined it was the same woman in both incidents.
The woman, who has not been identified, said she was approached by an unknown man. After a brief conversation he forced her into the car.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of cuts, bruises and a fracture to the side of her face.
