Tiphaine and and 18 year-old Trevon Cloud are cleaning out the house where Mario Cloud lived.

Tiphaine, the mother of three of Cloud's children, and Trevon, Cloud's oldest son are not related, but they're joined together by tragedy. The murder of someone they loved.

"I mean I can't don anything. I'm grieving and it hurts. That wasn't just my dad, that was my best friend," said Trevon.

The shooting took place Thursday around 3 in the afternoon. Cloud's son says his 36-year-old father was gunned down right here in the kitchen of his home at 3006 Garfield Street with his eight month old baby and girlfriend in the house.

A neighbor said she heard gun shots and called 911. Cloud was taken to the hospital where he later died from his wounds.

Now Tiphaine says she has to face the difficult task of telling her children that their father is gone.

"He's the father of my kids. Now they're fatherless. I just don't know what to say, just you're not going to see daddy anymore."

Trevon says but has fond memories of the father-son time they spent together.

"Fishing, cooking, just being around him. He taught me how to draw, taught me about cars," said Trevon.

Trevon and Tiphaine say they don't know who would want to hurt Cloud, but said they don't feel safe even being the neighborhood right now.

"Whoever did this is very evil and I hope that justice is served because Mario did not deserve this. Nobody is perfect, but he was getting his life together," said Tiphaine.

A TPD spokesperson who said they are continuing to work on the case. Some neighbors say they gave authorities descriptions of the suspect, But TPD says they're not ready to release information concerning their investigation just yet.

Update 9:30pm 8/5

A shooting quickly turns into a homicide investigation this afternoon. Crime tape surrounds a home on Tallahassee's South side as police search for a suspect.

Concerned neighbors and witnesses lined the crime scene tape in shock. When asked- all of the neighbors had nothing but good things to say about the victim, Mario Cloud.

Gun shots echoed through homes on the south side of Tallahassee around 3 Thursday afternoon.

The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a frantic 911 call to 3006 Garfield street. That's where they found 36 year old Mario Cloud shot and fighting for his life.

Cloud was taken by ambulance to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds ... and the shooting investigation turned into a murder investigation.
W. Smith, a friend of victim says, "When I pulled up and I couldn't get to my brother's house and they said what happened- I was stunned"

Witnesses say Cloud's girlfriend and 8 month old baby were inside the home when the shooting took place ... but neither was hurt.

His neighbor- who did not want to be identified - called 911. She said she heard the shots ring out and was with the victim when he was gasping for his last breaths. "They was coming exactly for him. No ifs' ands, or buts about it. I know that he doesn't have any enemies that I know of so- something just went wrong."

Those who knew Cloud are still questioning who would murder someone who *they knew as their quiet, friendly neighbor and a great dad.

"At night time he'd be out side watering his grass and planting his flowers- he never had any commotion over to his house."

"He always gave us the utmost respect, my brother got along with him and there never was a problem between him and the guy, they always loaned tools and stuff."

"You'd always see him with his son. If they weren't in the house he was pushing his son down the street in the stroller. He wasn't a bad person. He will be missed."

Some neighbors were surprised by the shooting, but others say this isn't the first time they have heard shots in the area. The police are not releasing any suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Tallahassee police department at 891-4200 or Crimestoppers at 574-TIPS.

Most of the crimes go back to the parents. Not teaching right from wrong and not holding their self accountable for there children. Most don't know who their father is or are following their foot steps Everyone say's someone needs to step in to help. The first step needs to be done by the parents or parent. Parenting 101 punishment for doing wrong, respect for theirself and others. Race and money are not the problem
