Rethink Energy Florida (Formerly Crude Awakening Tallahassee) has a list of events it is hosting.


“Crude” Movie directed by Joe Berlinger

Rethink joins the Tallahassee Film Society in hosting this film examining the unacknowledged costs of crude extraction. All Saints Cinema, 918 ½ Railroad Ave. Friday, 8/27 6PM, Sat., 8/28 5PM, Sun., 8/29 5 PM. $7 general, $5 TFS members, $5 students (w/id)


'Spill on Washington'

Labor Day Weekend (9/4-9/6)

There will be expense to this; however, with enough interest (at least nine people), we can facilitate the coordination and also assist in cutting down on costs for transportation.


Art for the Ark in Railroad Square

Sunday, 9/12, 1-6

Art Celebration in Railroad square – All proceeds to benefit Gulf Specimen Marine Lab. Come visit our table while you listen to music and enjoy the art. In conjunction with this event, Cynthia Hollis (lolahollis@yahoo.com) is organizing a silent auction at the (air conditioned) gallery connected to ‘The Other Side’ store. To participate, Please donate works of art to be sold for $100 or less, with all the proceeds going to the Noah's Ark project. They are accepting works at the space Thursday and Friday Sept 9 & 10, 1-6pm / installing them on Friday, 1-6 and selling them Sat 11th and Sun 12th, 1-6.

For those who didn’t get the last email, we are now ReThink Energy Florida, a new non-profit created out of the events of the past months, such as the rallies, letter writing parties, and Riki Ott's presentations. Our mission is to educate, engage, and empower citizens to take action toward achieving energy independence and a sustainable environment. ReThink Energy Florida, Inc. is dedicated to promoting awareness of dangers of fossil fuels and the renewable options for energy. ReThink Florida Political Committee is dedicated to promoting citizen action in our government and election process.


Save the Date: 10/10/10, afternoon, 350 Climate Friendly Action Party

Rethink Energy Florida joins other organizations to promote awareness of climate change and actions we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. Activities will be occurring on FAMU and FSU campuses as well as at a city-wide location to be determined. Save the date and email back to get involved in planning!

An independent trainer, with 30 years of experience, has offered to give hazardous material training to a group of us. By independent, I am speaking of someone who is certified to train, but is not contracted by BP.
