Update 8/4/08

Authorities in Madison County are searching for a killer. And Madison County residents are still stunned that a murder took place in their small community.

Police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. 31 year-old Jaguar Gee was killed in his apartment on Friday. Monday, the Madison Police department met with FDLE to share information in the case and try to tie up loose ends.

For now, they're not saying much about the case, except that they're following up on leads. While those who knew Gee reminisce about the "kind man" they will all remember.

"He'll give you the shirt off his back if he could. I mean, it's just sad. It's so sad that somebody could harm somebody like that," says Nicey Ruffins, a resident in Madison County who knew Gee.

Autopsy results say Gee died from blunt force trauma to the head. It's not clear if the killer knew Gee, police aren't saying at this time if there were signs of forced entry into the apartment.
Investigators are not saying at this time if they have any suspects, and they also haven't stated a clear motive for the crime.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS.

Update 10:21

Official Ebberson from the Madison County Sheriffs Office says they are currently conducting an autopsy on Jaguar Gee's body and results are supposed to be released this after noon around 1PM.

Family embraced....trying to understand what's happened.

Police say 31 year old Jaguar Gee was found dead inside is apartment around 11 am on Friday. "He was a good guy, I mean we just are in a state of shock. He was the type of person he would give you the shirt off his back," says Margaret Peacock, Gee's aunt.

The Madison Police were called to the Arbours apartments after a friend discovered the body. Police are calling the death suspicious and called FDLE to help.

"We asked them to come over and process the crime scene for us. That allows us to have the best technologically and trained personnel to take care of that for us. And it relieves us to be able to go and do the things that we need to be doing," says Rick Davis, Madison Police Chief.

Officers are still investigating a motive for the murder, but right now they're not saying much about the nature of the death or the crime scene. Family members say they can't understand why anyone would do this.

"We don't know anything, we're looking for closure. If anybody knows anything, please, please, we're begging you, come forward," adds Peacock.

Family members are hoping someone will come forward to give them the answers they're desperately waiting for.

If anyone has information about this crime, they're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS or call the Madison Police Department at 850-973-4001 and ask for Investigator Ebberson.
