Authorities say an Albany boy drowned in a
weekend swimming incident and his would-be rescuer is missing.
Police said the body of 11-year-old Joshua Perry was recovered
from the Flint River where he had gone swimming with his
10-year-old brother on Sunday afternoon.
Phyllis Banks-Whitley, a police media manager, said four people
pulled the younger sibling from the river.
But Police said the incident took another tragic turn when a
23-year-old man attempted to rescue the 11-year-old also went under
and never resurfaced.
Their names were withheld.
