Judge Bars Media in Georgia Safe Haven Case

A Georgia hearing could decide who will have custody of a suburban Atlanta boy dropped off in Nebraska under the state's safe-haven law.

Cobb County juvenile court judge Joanne Elsey barred media in the courtroom during the hearing Thursday. Judge Elsey cited laws protecting the privacy of juveniles for the ban.

The case involves 33 year old Tysheema Brown. The Smyrna mom drove to a medical center in Lincoln, Nebraska over the weekend and left him there in the hopes of getting help for the boy.

The case has been continued until December fourth. Until then, the child will remain in state custody.
