No one makes a pizza quite like Dennis Tran. Seriously, no one in the world makes a pizza like Dennis Tran. For the past three years, he's won the world record as fastest pizza maker.
"The pressure was on, but that's what I live for."
In 2006, Tran flipped three pies in 55 seconds. In 2007, he broke his own record. And he did it again in 2008 making three pizzas in 46.4 seconds.
He learned to move quick while working at a Domino's outside of the White House.
"They would order 100-150 pizzas so it kept me busy and it helped me with my speed a little bit."
The trophies are all well and good, but we needed proof.
"On your marks, get set, go....
And like an artist, Tran kneads the dough, flips it through the air...gets a good amount of sauce...cheeses it up, and before you can finish the sentence...."time"...12 seconds.
"I don't know how much faster we can get but maybe 45 seconds. I'll retire after that, but that's the ultimate goal."
For now, Tran is anything but retired. He just moved to Tallahassee from Boston and bought three area Domino's Pizza's. And with Super Bowl Sunday just days away, the pizza making champ is resting his fingers, waiting for the phones to ring.
