DUI Manslaughter

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A Boca Raton man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing two women in a 2006 drunk driving
crash.

A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 30 year-old Edwin Perez on
Tuesday. He had been convicted of two counts of DUI manslaughter,
two counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily
injury and driving under the influence causing injury to person or
property.

Authorities say Perez ran a red light in October 2006 and
crashed in a car carrying four women. Vanessa Wolff and Jessica
Boumans, both 23, died in the crash, and the other two were
injured.

Perez's blood-alcohol level was recorded to be 0.12 percent.
Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08.
