The University of Georgia held a blood drive Wednesday in honor of a former student battling a flesh-eating bacteria.
Aimee Copeland's father challenged his daughter's alma mater to an ongoing blood donation competition, along with his alma mater, the University of South Carolina.
Doctors say Copeland's condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.
They've had to amputate both her hands. a leg and her other foot.
She got infected with the flesh-eating bacteria more than a month ago after falling from a zipline into a contaminated river.
She's now two weeks away from beginning rehab and getting fitted for prostheses.
