[LAST UPDATED 4/12 at 7PM]
Firefighters responded to a roaring inferno at the corner of Jefferson and Pine Street in downtown Thomasville around 4:30 Sunday afternoon (4/10) and say they went to work putting it out.
Fire investigators say extensive damage from backhoes, smoke, and water made it impossible to determine where the fire started inside the building.
The cause of a roaring Sunday blaze in Thomasville is unknown.
Firefighters say the building on fire at the corner of Jefferson and Pine Streets was vacant, but at one point it had been used as a mechanic shop.
No injuries were reported, and no other buildings were in danger of catching on fire.
Firefighters say they'll have a better idea of what caused the blaze once the flames are out and the smoke dies down.
