Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will
travel to Germany and Japan this week for talks on Libya and other
crises with NATO allies in Berlin and to show support for the
earthquake- and tsunami-stricken Japanese people. She also will
visit South Korea.
The State Department announced Monday that Clinton will depart
Wednesday for the German capital where she will attend a meeting of
NATO foreign ministers and hold separate discussions with officials
from Germany and other European nations on Thursday and Friday.
Over the weekend, she will visit South Korea and then Japan,
which is recovering from a massive earthquake and resulting tsunami
and aftershocks that have crippled the country's northeast. The
events also damaged nuclear reactors that are now spewing
