Cupcake Store Has Vehicle Stolen
by James Buechele

Tallahassee, Florida- May 31, 2012

It's not the start to the day Jean Bates wanted.

"Went to take my daughter to school and the Lucy and Leo's Vehicle was not in my driveway," said Bates.

Bates owns the Lucy and Leo's Cupcakery store near midtown in Tallahassee. She usually leaves the white Subaru Outback at her home. The vehicle helps deliver cupcakes from her store.

Sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, the car was stolen despite the logos clearly displayed on the vehicle.

"I just think that it's horrible," said Tallahassee resident Katie Beidel. "I think that it's crazy that people are stealing cars that have decals on it."

Bates says that Tallahassee Police told her that the vehicle was involved in an armed robbery later Thursday morning. Officials would not confirm due to an ongoing investigation.

Folks we spoke to say they love the local dessert store.

"It's good to support locally owned businesses and it's just amazing cupcakes and everything in there is just delicious," said Beidel

"It was on Cupcake Wars and I've tried a couple of the cupcakes," said customer Karen Kawar. It's a really good place."

A description of the vehicle is also on the store's Facebook page. The tag number is # AGQP16.

Anyone with information should call Tallahassee Police at 850-891-4200.

okay, I'm going to get in on this too! I guess the cops couldn't find it because it wasn't a doughnut? Or maybe they found it parked near the gangplank of the Good Ship Lollipop?
