UPDATE 08-19-2011 at 5:10pm

Quincy police arrested 19-year old Yatesha Miller and 24-year old Demetric Smith Wednesday for pulling a knife on James Abbott at his home.

They then forced him to drive to several ATM's and convenient stores on Tuesday night in Tallahassee to withdraw money from his bank account.

Family members are still shaken up.

Abbott's grandson Zimife Nwokeji says, "I thought what they did was horrible. And it really frightened us. We're glad we have our grandpa still in the house."

We stopped by Abbott's home today and he did not want to go on camera. But, his grandson told us that Abbott is more aware of the dangers in opening up his doors. ______________________________________________________
Quincy, Florida - August 18, 2011 -

The Quincy Police Department has charged two persons with home invasion robbery, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft auto after a manhunt ended with the two arrestees being located in Tallahassee. The Quincy Police Department began investigating a home invasion robbery and kidnapping case which began Tuesday night after the victim, 86 year old James Abbott of Quincy, contacted the Tallahassee Police Department after being released by his kidnappers in Tallahassee.

At approximately 9PM on August 16th Abbott was at his home located at 1263 Hill Street in Quincy when he answered a knock at his door. Upon opening the door the victim observed a black female standing on his porch. The female began to explain to the victim that she needed money to purchase milk for her infant child. Feeling sympathetic the victim went into his home and retrieved a small amount of money to give to the female but was confronted by the female and a male accomplice when he returned to his living room. The male suspect was armed with a large knife and the two began to threaten the victim and demand money. A short time later the two suspects decided to force the victim from his home to drive them to Tallahassee and withdraw more money from his bank account at several bank ATMs. After driving around most of Tallahassee and visiting several ATMs and receiving an undisclosed amount of money the victim was released from his kidnappers in the area of N. Meridian Road and John Knox Road. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was then able to find a phone and call TPD for help. Fortunately the victim in this case was not physically injured.

Photos obtained by Quincy Police showed the female suspect to be a black female, 18-27 years of age, medium brown complexion, black short straight hair with perm. This suspect was wearing a green army camouflage colored knit top with a small black jacket over it. She wore dark pants with a metal chain hanging from the right side and open flat sandals. The male suspect was described only as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Quincy Police Investigators obtained evidence and photos from locations visited by the suspects and was able to identify the female suspect as Yatesha Renaye Miller, 19, of Quincy. With the assistance of the Tallahassee Police Department CID Miller was located Wednesday, August 17th. A second suspect was also located with Miller matching the description of the male accomplice. Arrested as well is Demetric Rashawn Smith, 24, also of Quincy. Both arrestees have been charged by the Quincy Police Department with home invasion robbery, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and grand theft auto. This investigation in on-going and additional charges are also pending. Both are in the Leon County Jail.

Chief Walt McNeil stated “We have a significant elderly population in Gadsden County and The QPD and GCSO have been focused on them and their safety as of late. It is appalling to find people taking advantage of our senior citizens. Those who prey on our senior citizens should be warned that the Quincy Police and Gadsden County Sheriffs Office will pursue you vigorously and bring you to justice. We will then insist on the highest level of prosecution by the State Attorney’s Office.”

Anyone with information about this case or these two arrestees is asked to contact the Quincy Police Department at 627-7111.

Stop paying people to have children that don't want children, because this is what you end up with.

The govenment paid the women that had them to have them. The womend did not want to be parents, they wanted a check. So they had children, didn't raise them and this is what you get 19 years later on your investment. Stop paying people to breed criminals.

Were either of these two product of the welfare system. Were they born to mothers that did not really want to be parents, but wanted a check. or were they born into loving functional families with both a mother and a father. Mmmmm let me guess. The problem is easy to resolve. Stop paying people to have children. Stop making baby making a business. Stup funding madnees. Stop funding the births of children who are not going to be loved for or raised right. This is what you are going to get. stop enabling madness.
