Lake City, Florida- September 6, 2012

September 5, 2012 at approximately 8:50 P.M., an unknown white male entered the CVS Store at 2233 US-90W and demanded money before fleeing the store empty handed.

At approximately 7:50 P.M. on Wednesday, September 5th, an unknown white male, about 6’00” tall, wearing tan desert camo pants, black shirt, work boots and red/black baseball cap entered the CVS on US-90W. The customer came into the store and attempted to buy a 99¢ can of Vienna sausages. He only had 36¢ in his pocket, so he left the can of sausage on the counter and left the store. The cashier on duty at the time, Mrs. Debra Peek, who was working during the failed Vienna sausage purchase, was still on duty an hour later when the same customer returned.

This time, he entered the store while holding his shirt up to his nose in an attempt to cover his face. This time the suspect told Mrs. Peek, “Give me all your money, I’m not joking” in a robbery attempt. Mrs. Peek told the suspect to leave three times and he then walked out of the front door, empty handed.

The unknown white male suspect was not located during an immediate search of the area by responding officers. No weapon was displayed during this robbery attempt and the cashier was not harmed. This case is still under investigation and charges are pending.
