Valdosta, Georgia - September 15, 2011 -
On September 13, 2011, Tyson Tyrone Fulton, African American male, 24 years old, Valdosta resident was arrested for the shooting incident at the American Legion, 427 S. Lee Street on September 4, 2011 which two persons were injured. The victims were treated and released from South Georgia Medical Center.
A tip came in to police about the possible whereabouts of Fulton. The Valdosta Police Department Narcotics Unit along with assistance from the Lowndes County Narcotics Unit, located Fulton at a residence in the 200 block of Windsor Street during the early evening of September 13, 2011. Fulton was taken into police custody without incident. Fulton has been charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault, 1 count Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and 1 count Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. Detectives are currently investigating the motive of the crime. Fulton is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail.
On Sunday, September 4, 2011 at approximately 0154 hours, Officers with the Valdosta Police Department responded to the American Legion, 427 S. Lee Street in reference to gunshots being fired and there being a gunshot victim. Officers arrived and located Warren Joyce who had been shot one time in the leg. Joyce was transported by EMS to SGMC. The other victim, Kareem Foster, had been transported by a friend to SGMC. Foster had been shot in the hip. Both Joyce and Foster were treated and later released from the hospital and their wounds do not appear to be life threatening. Witnesses at the scene identified Tyson Fulton as the shooter. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department and Crime Scene Technicians from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to investigate. Two arrest warrants have been issued on Fulton for Aggravated Assault, one for each victim. Other charges may be filed in the case. Anyone having information on Fulton’s location is asked to notify the police.

An early morning shooting leaves two people injured over the weekend.
Valdosta Police say Sunday morning at two, a fight broke out behind the American Lee Club on Lee street. Two men were shot.
One in the ankle and one in the thigh.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspected shooter.
"It's unfortunate. Some people just won't give us a chance but we still plugging on," said Club Manager Jerry Smith. "We are not going to stop because of that one incident."
Smith says the club was closed at the time of the shooting.
Police say the two people shot were innocent bystanders.
Both men were treated and released from South Georgia Medical Center.
