Reports of dead dogs being found on a deputy's property have launched an investigation.
Eyewitness News has confirmed the man who lives at the home in Quincy is Gadsden County Sheriff's Reserve Deputy Gary Lehr.
We have reports some dogs were found dead on the property.
Three dogs were walking around the yard when our reporter was there earlier in the day on June 28th.
Neighbors recall seeing what they call stray dogs on that property in the past.
Said one nearby resident: "He had a Dobberman Pinscher up there. Stray dogs did go up there because I went up there a couple of times to talk with him. So, I know it was a heap of them up there then."
Neighbors say they don't believe Lehr would ever harm the dogs.
The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating.
