Early Morning Shooting at Circle K on Thomasville Road

Leon County, FL - At 12:24 am on Thursday, October 11, 2012, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting incident. Deputies responded to the Circle K store located at 6706 Thomasville Road and made contact with 23 year old Jack Davidson. Deputies learned that Davidson had been shot in the neck.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Davidson agreed to meet Keith Burks, 31 in the 5000 block of Bradfordville Road to sell him marijuana. As the deal was being negotiated, Burks produced a handgun and demanded all of the illegal drugs. A struggle then ensued between Burks and Davidson.

Burks got out of Davidson’s car and began shooting in his direction, striking him in the neck. Davidson then struck Burks with his car, breaking Burks’ leg. Davidson drove to the Circle K and contacted LCSO.

Burks was located in the 5200 block of Bradfordville Road. Both men were treated at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Burks was arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail. The marijuana and the firearm were located near the 5200 block of Bradfordville Road.

This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are forthcoming.
