Sexual Assault Charges Dropped Against FDLE Employee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Sexual assault charges against a Tallahassee man have been dropped.

27-year-old Alex Craig Ranzinger was found not guilty on charges of Sexual Assault.

Witnesses originally told police they saw Ranzinger sexually assault a victim at the Moon Night Club on E. Lafayette Street in February of 2014.

The charge was reduced to a misdemeanor battery charge, according to court records.

On February 15, 2014 just before 2am, Tallahassee Police Department arrested Alex Craig Ranzinger on charges of Sexual Battery.

The victim and two other witnesses who cannot be identified at this time say they saw Ranzinger sexually assault the victim inside The Moon, a local club located at 1105 E. Lafayette Street.

The victim was able to flee and contacted security immediately.

Ranzinger was charged with sexual battery and transported to the Leon County Jail.

Ranzinger is on leave from FDLE, pending an internal investigation. He was a member of the Senior Criminal Justice Information Services at FDLE.
