FSU Police Arrest Two for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell and Weapons Violation

Tallahassee, FL -- November 15, 2011 --

Florida State University police arrested Nicholas Stone, 19, and Jeffery Scala, 20, both residents of Heritage Grove off Ocala Road, on Sunday.

During a search of a residence, officers seized a shotgun and several boxes of ammunition. They also seized $1,550 in cash suspected of being obtained through illegal drug sales.

Stone was charged with four felonies: possession of a firearm on school property, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of marijuana over 20 grams and possession of a counterfeit driver’s license. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Scala was charged with simple misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The FSU Police Department is continuing to investigate drug activity associated with the arrestees.

    This is one reason why the state should drug test all students at all state owned colleges and universities. This is a direct safety issue and a health and welfare issue.

      On what grounds would you test students? Being alive? How is it a safety issue? Who in this arrest got hurt, or who did the arrestees hurt? That's right, nobody.

      I agree. I attend FSU, and it would be nice to get rid of all the losers. Our student population decrease draastically. I don't think that would be a problem either.
