Quincy, FL - October 10, 2012 -11:04pm - New details are out tonight about a fight between a teacher and her eighth grade student.

Two students were injured, one suffering a broken wrist, the other a concussion.

34-year-old Kimberly Price turned herself in to the Gadsden County Jail this afternoon. As of this evening, Price posted a $15,000 bail and is out of jail tonight.

We've been following this story since that fight happened on Wednesday last week.

Inside of a classroom, during the school day, the arrest report shows that fight started with a pen.

Sue Noyes, Concerned Resident, said of the altercation, "well number one I'm totally shocked. I just think a teacher should be much more disciplined."

Henry Macon, another Concerned Resident, stated, "children in school trying to get an education has to suffer on behind an adults."

Many say they're shocked that a teacher, this teacher - Kimberly price, was booked at the Gadsden County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and child abuse.

The arrest affidavit sheds new light on the classroom brawl at James A. Shanks Middle School.

In it, Price says she threw a pen at a student after the two started arguing and claims the student threatened to fight her.

Before that fight another student in the class claimed Price stated, 'that little dirty expletive ain't gonna mess up my shirt."

After the pen was thrown students say price 'picked up a desk and threw the desk at 'the victim'.

That desk missed but broke into pieces hitting another student, breaking her wrist.

That same witness says Price 'threw the victim on the floor and was punching 'her' in the face with a closed fist, and that Price choked the student. That student ended up with a concussion.

Price's account of the story is a little different. She says after throwing the pen, the student punched her in the face.

Price says she restrained the student by pulling her hair, and says, "she probably did throw a desk but could not remember everything because all she saw was red."

Both witnesses and Price say she made no effort to call security or other faculty members.

GCSO says both of those students were injured. We're told one was not involved directly but was hit by a piece of a desk that had been thrown.
