Press Release: Leon County Sheriff's Office

At 7:25 pm on October 2, 2013, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4351 Strong Pine Court in reference to a disturbance. Arriving deputies made contact with 59 year old Willie Hall, Elroy Jordon, 55, and discovered 83 year old Willie Dixon deceased on the living room floor.

Hall told deputies that he was in another part of the residence when he heard several gunshots. Hall said Jordon had shot Dixon and was still holding the gun when he entered the room. Hall said Jordon pointed the gun at him too, but he managed to wrestle it away from Jordon, who is confined to a wheelchair.

Jordon and Hall were taken to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office where they were interviewed.

Violent Crimes Detectives learned that Jordon was upset with Dixon about a dispute over a vehicle and an argument from earlier in the week. Detectives also confirmed that Jordon purchased the gun “on the street” and that Jordon believed the gun to be stolen at the time he acquired it.

The gun was reported stolen by TPD in 1997. Jordon was taken to the Leon County Jail. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

This investigation is continuing and any additional information will be released when available.

ARRESTED
Elroy Jordon
55 years old
Charges: Homicide, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Violation of an Injunction for Protection against Domestic Violence
