She was supposed to be performing her duties as a correctional officer at Jefferson Correctional Institution. Instead, officers say 46-year-old Pamela Branch was breaking the law.

A joint investigation with state law enforcement agencies, including the DOC, shows she was involved in:

- Trafficking in Oxycodone.

- Identity theft.

- Conspiracy to introduce contraband into the institution.

- Receiving unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.

She turned herself in Monday and bonded out the same day.

All four charges against Branch are felony charges.

She has been employed with the Department of Corrections since May 2003. An agency spokesperson said Branch has just been fired.

Pamela Branch, 46, turned herself in to the Madison County Jail Monday morning.

Officials say she committed four serious crimes, while on the job.

The Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and United States Postal Inspection Service worked together to investigate Branch. She works as a correctional officer at the Jefferson Correctional Institution.

Branch is being charged with four felonies: trafficking in Oxycodone, identity theft, conspiracy to introduce contraband into the institution and receiving unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.

An FDOC Spokesperson says they are reviewing Branch's job status, but she has not been officially terminated at this time.

Her bond Monday was set for $80,000.

An official with the Madison County Jail tells me Branch bonded out yesterday after she turned herself in.

It is very easy to get things in through security. I walked through the sally port MANY times without being screened. I could have been bringing any amount of items in on a daily basis.......I brought the staffing issue to the Wardens attention my first week. We see what good that did!

their logo on the buildings at jefferson ci is if they fail we fail, how do they expect the in mates not to fail if the the security guards keep bringing in drugs and cell phones.another guard was arrested last month at the prison for haveing a bag of pot and 2 cell phones. They need to have more security on the guards and strip them before they come into the prison.they do drug testing on the prisoners and i know some was put into confinement they are locked up they cant get drugs unless the guards bring it in.

I would like to give thanks to the person or people who come up with this idea to use my name in this ignorant finger pointing conversation. Since then Ms. Branch & I have talked about what's been said & what's being said on line. By the way Ms. Branch & I know who you are posting this stuff on line, so I have & will continue to pray for you. But if there is anything you would like to know or think I said just call me 850.673.1993 & I promise you I'm (Man) enough to tell you. Until then be bless & pray for others & stop putting people down.

I hope they lock her up for a long time. She knew better than to do some crazy thing like this. Her mother is dying and she is doing stupid stuff like this. Two days ago her mother had a stroke from all of this stupid behavior that her daughter was involved in. Pam, why did you bound out of jail with 8,000 dollars. You should have saved that money for when you get out of prinson because you are going to prinson.
