Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that On Monday the 2nd day of July 2012, Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Nissan Altima for traveling 85 mph in a 70 mph posted speed zone. The vehicle was traveling Westbound on interstate 10 in Madison County.

Officers engaged in conversation with the driver of the vehicle, Adrian Mariel Anderson (DOB: 09/05/1980) of Tallahassee Florida. Officers further observed marijuana debris in plain view while Mr. Anderson retrieved his vehicle registration. A probable cause search discovered a book bag containing 16 separate vacuumed sealed bags of marijuana equaling 1 ounce each to total 1 pound. A set of portable scales were also found with the marijuana in the book bag and Mr. Anderson also had marijuana on his person.
Adrian Mariel Anderson was arrested and charged with the following:

1. Possession Marijuana with intent to distribute
2. Possession drug paraphernalia
