On November 25, 2013 at approximately 3:05 AM, the Valdosta Police Department responded to an alarm at the Enmark Convenience Store, 701 E. Park Avenue. Officers arrived and found that one of the window panes had been broken out. Officers checked the business, but there was no one inside.
According to the key holder, several cartons of cigarettes and several cases of beer were stolen. After looking at the video from the store’s security system, a BOLO was given out with the description of the offender and the vehicle he was driving. A short time later the vehicle was spotted by officers on E. Hill Avenue.
The officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with Willie Hayes, who was identified as the person from the video. Several cartons of cigarettes and cases of beer were found inside the vehicle. Hayes was arrested without incident and transported to the Lowndes County Jail. Hayes faces charges for Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property.
