TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — October 12, 2011 -

A 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault with a
firearm early Tuesday following a disagreement at a local bar.

At 2:46 a.m. Tuesday, Florida State University police arrested Andrew Mangione outside of Potbelly’s, 459 W. College Ave. Mangione had apparently had a confrontation inside of the establishment with staff and had been asked to leave. He was then allegedly seen waiting in front of the establishment after closing. When another staff member told him to move on, Mangione reportedly stated that he had an issue with an employee of Potbelly’s and also said that he had a gun while reaching into his jacket pocket. The staff member became alarmed, tackled Mangione and held him down while another staff member retrieved a handgun from Mangione’s jacket pocket.

Police were called, and after investigating the incident they arrested Mangione. The gun was recovered by police and impounded as evidence.

Tallahassee Police Department officers assisted FSU police in securing the scene for the investigation.

Boy sure looks sorry in his picture. Thinking his gun would make him more of a man this boy acted out and got what he deserved. Snce we can't keep guns away from criminals and idiots we should ban guns. It would safer for us all.

Gangsters don't need guns when good people don't have any.

More proof that guns and bars do not go together, so lets keep the bars and lose the guns. NRA mouthpieces need not reply - your opinions are well known. Those in favor of a civil society may participate.

ironic name. what if a crazy person went to a bar to shoot it up (with an illegal gun they smuggled in from out of the country), and someone with a licensed weapon took him down and saved your life?

Most guns that are smuggled into the US are full auto, so even if you have a gun legally you probably won't be able to get a shot off.

Well if he had a CWP then he would have known that he can't carry a weapon inside a bar or on his person near any place where the majority of there revenue is through alcohol sales

Liberals like you wouldn't defend your wife being raped or your family being beat up if you had a gun in your pocket, you are better known as a coward. Only men are members of the NRA.

Go educate yourself before you decide to speak next time. The NRA and any responsible gun owner knows guns are NOT allowed at any licensed facility serving/selling alcohol. The kid in this incident probably left and went home and got his gun and then came back. Someone who probably did not have a conceled weapons permit nor had any business owning a gun. You think guns makes a society uncivilized??? Your joking right? You whole statment just makes you look like an uneducated idiot. If the kid didn't have access to a gun he would have just brought a knife back or a pipe or whatever.

None of that matters. The gun was used and threatened with illegally. Good questions though.

State prison is more like that since this wasn't a federal offense.

I worked security at Potbellys and Floyds in the 90s and it was not uncommon for a disgrunted patron (who was thrown out or had a friend thrown out) to come back after closing to confront us. Most of the time they were under the influence and had no business starting a fight. I never had a gun involved, but did have a knife drawn. We had a good repoire with TPD and they always helped us when needed.
