Marianna, FL - On 1-13-2011 while officers of the Marianna Police Department, the Jackson County Sheriffs Office, the Washington County Sheriffs Office, and Florida Highway Patrol were conducting a man hunt for a suspect that was involved in a violent felony incident in Washington County; a known associate of the suspect, Heather Bytell, was spotted as she was leaving the area in her vehicle with what appeared to be a black male subject in the passenger seat.
Believing that the black male was the suspect wanted out of Washington County, a felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Heather Bytell, was removed from the vehicle, and as she was assisted to her feet a unlabeled transparent pill bottle could be seen in plain sight sticking up out of Bytell’s front pants pocket. Plastic baggies and white powder could be seen plainly in the bottle. Suspecting that the content of the bottle was a controlled substance it was secured and did field test positive for cocaine. The suspected cocaine was package in the bottle in multiple little plastic bags.
Based on this probable cause Bytell was arrested and charged for possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Bytell was processed at the Marianna Police Department and transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.
